Miss Insanity is a large-scale hybrid poster that combines the techniques of screenprinting, woodblock printing, and digital editing. The project was centered around the theme of loss and desire. I chose to incorporate elements from the song Mr. Insanity by DPR Ian, which is a track from the album Moodswings Into Order.
The poster features a female figure, which is the central element of the artwork, expressing the feeling of loss and the need for solitude through this figure. The hands in front and behind the figure convey a sense of yearning and desire, which contrasts with the feeling of being alone. The eyes in the background of the poster represent how no matter what we do, we are never truly alone. This creates a contrasting effect between the feelings of isolation and the reality of always being connected to others.
The color palette chosen for this artwork is minimal yet bold. The colors used are deliberately chosen to create an emotional impact on the viewer. The combination of screenprinting and woodblock printing adds texture and depth to the poster. digital editing used in the project allowed me to manipulate and enhance the final image.
This large-scale hybrid poster is a complex and thought-provoking work of art. The emotions of loss and desire are successfully displayed through the use of carefully chosen elements and techniques. These posters are a powerful expression of the human experience of loss and the desire for connection. It invites the viewer to contemplate the complexity of human emotions and the constant struggle between the need for solitude and the desire for connection with others.
